bailey, everywhere

I'm Bailey, a small girl from a small town. I lived a year in Kyoto and I graduated from college in Chicago in June 2010. I lived in Boston for two years but it was a wash. I'm rebuilding from the ground up. I am intent on adventures. I like beautiful things, funny things, photography, Japan, and emoticaps. (I am a vegan in progress and sometimes it happens in public. I yell most frequently about religion, racism, "women's issues," feelings, and dresses.) My friends call me Etsuko. You write it like 悦子 and it is a very good name.

Oh GAWD.

Wait, but we don’t condone the smoking ok?

Okay America, big day tomorrow. I’m going to leave you with this and go to bed and try not to think about tomorrow because—making a conservative estimate here—I suspect it will take me about five hours to fall asleep as is. 16+ years of school, and I still can’t deal with testing! Old habits die hard, I suppose. Which is great, since I’ve resolved to stay in school for pretty much the rest of my life. Hopefully this will be the first step towards that long deliberated of life choices! For real, this time.

dear child, imma pray for you and light some incense and pray to the buddha and tenjin for you cause that always makes me feel better. on a practical note, even if you don’t go to bed early, get up in time to have some breakfast and make sure to get a protein hit and a small breakfast beforehand.

<3

good luck!

pee ess. JFK, what a fuckin hottie.

GUYS. I am so glad I brought you together on tumblr, let’s all three meet in real life next (quit your job, come to camp)

I can’t wait until springtime so I can wear cute shoes again without having to worry that I’ll ruin them. #firstworldproblems

GIRL. I love Imogen. I just don’t get how a search for “hide and,” so I could listen to Hide and Seek, got me the other three results (esp. not ちんちん千鳥).

Dinosaur Comics - February 28th, 2011 - awesome fun times!

CHIHARUUUUuuuu, also everybody

lately there has been a lot of this, although 1) the zodiac I mean come on and 2) what am I even trying to express?

I may or may not have told you, internet, that there was that brief kerfluffle over everyone’s signs being ~*different*~, but I stayed a Pisces, so there’s that.

I

LOVE

YOU

I’m finally following this Tumblr. Even tho we have different views on many things, I love Rachel Maddow. She is the only pundit I can stand and she makes me laugh. (BRB, Tumblr creepin’)

I keep forgetting that Midori and Hanako don’t know each other really. Chiharu, too. But don’t worry guys the sheer power of my love will bring you all together.

THAT SAID, I agree with Hanako on, like, everything, and I don’t particularly like Rachel Maddow. We want most of the same things but she’s edging far enough left that nuance is getting whited out.

sloanfinley:

ohhhh, THIS.

guys

With that being said, you are a Democrat. You are saying, “Let’s cut and run.” And I have to tell you, I have been nervous about this interview with you, because what I feel like saying is, “Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.” And I know you’re not. I’m not accusing you of being an enemy, but that’s the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way.

Institutional islamophobia. Classy.

FUCK YOU IN THE FACE, GLENN BECK. FUCK YOU RIGHT IN THE FACE.

(via tsuginojibun)

“I’m not accusing you of being an enemy, I just feel like you are. I’m kidding, but I’m not kidding, you get me? It’s cool, though, a lot of Americans (us Americans, not like, you know, you) are openly bigoted in a way that we’re somehow not deeply ashamed of expressing, since we can draw false distinctions between feeling like accusing you and actually accusing you.”

no but, is this not what Juan Williams (whom I have literally never heard speak, okay) got fired for?
