The best part of this experiment bread is that I have two more grapefruits that need to get used for something, so if the proportions in this one aren’t right I have at least one more try, probably two.

I'm Bailey, a small girl from a small town. I lived a year in Kyoto and I graduated from college in Chicago in June 2010. I lived in Boston for two years but it was a wash. A New Thing: Tryin’ Out Tumblr

Verdict on the bread, & also for my dinner:
This is a loaf of biscuits. Next time I’ll drop balls of the dough onto a cookie sheet and make delicious delicious biscuits!
THAT SAID, here are things I changed, so maybe it’s my fault:
Up all ingredients (except flour) by 1/3 (eg 2 full cups of flour) — in retrospect that’s pretty heavy on the baking powderrrrr
Add 1/2 cup of corn kernels, cooked with the onions, + a dash of pepper and herb mix
I think next time slightly less baking powder, more pepper and/or herbs.
ALSO, frypoached egg, sauteed asparagus, roasted tomatoes.

- put laundry away
- walk to gym, walk up stairs for a while, situps, rowing, walk home (筋トレ！！！)

- make the kitchen be pretty

PS internet which thing should I bake? Options: scones with apricots, scones with strawberries, orange muffins redux, Highly Experimental cookies, carrot cake. ?

otherwise I like what’s happening but I’m a bit disappointed you can’t taste the grapefruit. Is zest not optional? I started zesting the peel but the bit I tasted was so bitter it made my mouth tingle for several minutes, so I left it out.
